Uniquely Singapore - MacRitchie Treetop Walk

If you love the outdoors and are on the lookout for a great place to take in and admire nature, visit the MacRitchie Reservoir, a uniquely Singapore attraction.  Not only are there boardwalks fringing the reservoir, there are also walking trails to take you through the forest.  What's more?  There are no entrance fees and you can spend a few hours enjoying the view of the forest landscape and if you are fortunate, meet some monkeys, birds or monitor lizards.

One of the more popular attraction at the MacRitchie Reservoir is The MacRitchie Treetop Walk, also known as the HSBC treetop walk since it is a collaboration between NParks and HSBC to reap more benefits for the community.

The HSBC Treetop Walk is a 250 m aerial free standing suspension bridge spanning Bukit Peirce and Bukit Kalang, the two highest points in MacRitchie.  Officially launched on 5 November 2004, the MacRitchie Treetop Walk allows you to soak in the panoramic view of the Upper Peirce Reservoir and the surrounding lush rainforest.

Lots of lovely flora and fauna along the way for you to soak in the beauty...

I love the many educational signages that have been erected along the way as there are so many interesting things to be learned about nature.

The entrance to the bridge for the HSBC Treetop Walk is from Ranger Station via Peirce.

Do note that if you are starting at the MacRitchie Reservoir Park, that would mean a distance of 4.5 km (1.5 - 2 hour walk) to the entrance of the MacRitchie Treetop Walk.

If your starting point is at the Venus Drive carpark, that would be a distance of 2.5 km (4 mins - 1 hr walk) to the entrance of the Treetop Walk Singapore.

Thus, be prepared for an approximately 7 - 10 km (3 - 5 hrs depending on your walking pace) round trip including the HSBC Treetop Walk.
