SouthEast Asia Member's Nite

Special guest entertainer was Anita Sarawak, also known as Singapore’s diva supreme of the 1970s. Anita Sarawak won the hearts of many with her famous husky voice.

The talented singer has put Singapore on the international music map: she now performs at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, where she migrated 14 years ago.

This was our first time seeing Anita Sarawak perform live and it was a wonderful experience. She indeed lives up to her reputation as a diva. It was a great performance, where Anita Sarawak showed her showmanship and sang songs in various South-east Asian languages.

Entertainers

There were lots of lucky draw prizes as well.

After the dinner and entertainment was over, we were treated to a birthday cake celebration by the crew members. A most memorable event and I am sure something that the 55 year young birthday boy will remember.

After the lovely evening, we went to The Picture house and watched the movie, ”Grey Gardens’ which ended at approximately 0030 hrs. The movie was about two filmmakers who entered the strange world of "Big Edie" and "Little Edie" Bouvier Beale, two charming eccentrics who were relatives of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy. We are taken into the world of this reclusive mother and daughter who chose to live in squalor and almost total isolation in a decaying, 28-room mansion known as Grey Gardens.

Day 2

This was a leisurely day for us. We work up late and had some tea at the Mediterranean Terrace.

Lunch saw us in Pavilion, the Chinese Restaurant.

Lunch in Pavilion

The set lunch was quite good and we ordered extra portions of the soup as well as the chicken and prawn dishes.

Once lunch was over, we went to the reception counter to collect our travel documents before we spent our time lazing away.

A good way to relax on board the holiday cruise ship is to plonk yourself somewhere where it is not too hot (at least for me) and just read a good book. Soak in some sun if that is your cup of tea or try your luck in the casino.

Birthday boy treated us to dinner at Samurai, the Japanese Restaurant, a great choice.

Deciding what to order

We ordered the Sanba Bento @ $24 each as well as Sukiyaki from the ala-carte menu. The bento was value for money. Overall, the pricing was reasonable and the food great tasting.

When dinner was over, we took a walk around the Superstar Virgo and ended up on the Sports Deck on Deck 13 Aft relaxing and enjoying the beautiful breeze under the moonlight. Next, we enjoyed listening to the Moonlight Rendezvous Serenades by the SuperStar Virgo Trio in the Galaxy of the Stars.

Day 3

On the morning of the third day, we had breakfast at Bella Vista, our usual haunt. What is good is that even if you are seated at the section for Western food and feel like trying some Chinese food, the staff will gladly oblige.

The SuperStar Virgo reached port around 0900 hrs. Thereafter, disembarkation started only after 1000 hrs. It was a short but enjoyable cruise with great and friendly staff on the holiday cruise ship SuperStar Virgo.
