A Malaysia Vacation

Charming Malaysia

If you are looking for some cheap holidays, Malaysia is the place to look at. A Malaysia holiday can be very affordable. If you are not too adventurous or if this is your first Malaysia vacation, then it might be recommended to opt for a Malaysia package and you can choose from a variety of travel itineraries.

Again, depending on what you are looking for, there are a variety of options available. Shopping in Malaysia can be pretty fun and exciting. If you love the thrill of bargaining and testing your negotiation skills, this can be done at the various roadside stalls or night markets. If you are more into quality and branded goods, then the modern and trendy shopping malls would be your playground.

In Malaysia you would not go hungry with the fascinating multi-cultural. Malaysian food is not one particular distinction of food but a culinary diversity originating from its multi-ethnic population of Malay, Indian, Eurasian, Chinese, Nonya and the Indigenous people of Borneo.

If you are looking to lie on some wonderful beach, look no further. There are thousands of blissful beaches along the eastern coastline of Peninsular Malaysia as well as on the hundreds of Malaysian islands. Redang, Tioman and Langkawi are some of the islands where you can find idyllic beach resorts to relax and unwind.

Beach activities

One of the world’s five best diving sites is Sipadan Island, Malaysia’s only oceanic island. This beautiful oceanic island was formed by living corals growing on top of an extinct volcanic cone that took thousands of years to develop.

For those who love some outdoor adventure, Taman Negara, Malaysia’s premier national park, is a must-see. Situated in the centre of Malaysia, Taman Negara covers 4343 square kilometers of primary forests and is one of the world’s oldest tropical rainforest.

Taman Negara canopy walk

Nature lovers will love shooting the rapids, exploring spectacular caves, trekking through dense, tricky forest pathways or swimming in crystal clear pools.

Taman Negara is also home to the Orang Asli, Malaysia’s aborigines. You can visit their settlement and even learn how to hunt with the blowpipe. If you are fortunate, you may catch sight of some exotic flora and fauna as well as the wild animals. Do not forget to go for the canopy walk which winds over 400 meters in the forest canopy, the world’s longest such walk.

Malaysia also offers you the choice of a highlands holiday.

Frasers Hill

Cactus galore in Cameron Highlands

Famous spots are Genting Highlands, Frasers Hill and Cameron Highlands. Though the weather up at these highlands ten years back was still pretty cool, it is no longer so with all the global warming and commercialization of the area.

Genting Highlands offers both and outdoor and indoor theme park as well as international class casinos. The only free fall diving simulator in Asia is located here as well. Cameron Highlands is the second most popular retreat, after Genting. Cameron has Tudor architecture style buildings, tea plantation with its soothing greenery, strawberry farms and breathtaking scenery. Frasers Hill retains a colonial charm and is quieter as compared to Genting and Cameron. You can explore the splendors of nature with a trek through the many well-marked nature trails and go on a bird-watching trip.
