Malaysia Holiday

If you are looking for cheap holidays, Malaysia is one of the best places to head for. We love going into Malaysia as there are always lots of things to do over there. Rather than joining a Malaysia tour, we prefer to go into Malaysia on our own as we love exploring new places. This time round, we went on a Singapore Malacca travel-venture.

Driving across the 2nd Link from Singapore into Malaysia

We left our home at 0620 hrs and stopped by a petrol station to top up the petrol tank to abide by regulations which require that Singapore registered cars leaving Singapore have at least 3/4 of a tank of fuel. Leaving Singapore via Tuas checkpoint, also known as the 2nd Link, it took us only 15 minutes to clear both sides of the customs and immigration. We were on our way from Singapore to Malacca city by 0730 hrs.

Singapore’s toll charges $ 4.60 = USD 3.25
M’sia Gelang Patah RM10.80 = USD 3.11
M’sia Lima Kedai RM 3.90 = USD 1.12
Malacca RM24.30 = USD 7.00
Total cost from Singapore Malacca self-drive = USD14.48

It was a smooth journey all the way and we arrived at the Malacca toll at 0930 hrs.

Our first stop was for breakfast at Perhentian Kedai Kuih Kuih at Ujong Pasir. We ordered 2pcs roti canai, 8 pcs kuih kuih, 1 coffee and 1 iced milo for a total of RM6.90 (USD2.00).

After filling our stomachs, we proceeded to Dataran Pahlawan Malacca Megamall in Malacca city for some shopping and parked at the public carpark opposite which charged RM2 (USD0.60) per entry. That was approximately 1030hrs and we crossed the street to Equatorial Hotel to snap some pictures.

Frasers Hill retains a colonial charm and is quieter as compared to Genting and Cameron.
