Chinese Garden
Formerly known as the Jurong Gardens and located at No. 1 Chinese Garden Road, the Chinese Garden was built in 1975, Designed by Prof. Yuen-chen Yu, a Taiwanese architect, the Chinese Garden’s concept is based on Chinese gardening art. The main characteristic is the integration of splendid architectural features with the natural environment. The Chinese Garden is modelled along the northern Chinese imperial style of architecture and landscaping.

Holiday Travel Tips:-
There is no entrance fee to either the Chinese or Japanese Gardens Singapore though there may be charges to some of the attractions within.

The Stone Boat is a famous traditional feature of Chinese architecture. Based on the Peking style, its
unique design and splendid architectural beauty is a fine art which has long been praised by people throughout the world.

Be amazed at the spectacular exhibit of different turtles and tortoises at the Live Turtle and Tortoise Museum!
Opened from 1000 hrs - 1900 hrs daily, there is an admission charge of SGD5.00 per adult and SGD3.00 per child/senior citizen to the museum.

One of the four pavilions at the Chinese Garden pictured below. The design is based on the style of Northern Chinese Pavilions, and decorated to blend harmoniously with the Garden.

The 7-storey pagoda can be seen from the Japanese Garden as it is situated on a small hill in the Chinese Garden. Its typical pagoda design follows the style of Ling Ku Temple Pagoda at Nanking.

Garden of Abundance |
The most noticeable feature of the Garden of Abundance are the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals sculpture. Here you will also see a sundial as well as stone bridges.

The 5,800 square metres Bonsai Garden comes complete with Suzhou-style buildings and landscape. With a collection of more than 2,000 bonsais imported from China and other parts of the world, the Suzhou-style Bonsai Garden is the largest of its kind out of China. Admission charges apply.

If you wish to explore all the areas in the Chinese and Japanese Gardens Singapore, do give yourself at least two to three hours for a slow and leisurely walk with photo stops along the way.
