Hong Kong Dining - Yee Shun Milk Company

Hong Kong Dining

After our lunch at Nanxiang Steamed Bun Restaurant which is famous for their xiaolongbao, we took some time to do some shopping whilst allowing our food to digest before proceeding to Yee Shun Milk Company, a milk theme dessert place frequented by Hong Kong locals.

We had read about the great reviews of Yee Shun Milk Company whilst making plans to travel to Hong Kong and thus mentioned to our local friend, Steven.  Here, Steven helped us fulfill our desires in trying out one of the famed Hong Kong desserts eatery.

Part of the menu
Steven wanted us to try the toasted bread with coconut, which turned out to be kaya, a spread which we are very well versed with.

Steamed milk in 2 films (cold)
As the name suggests, this is the double skin milk or 'Shuang Pi Nai'.  We first tried it in China where the top skin is much thicker.

Look closely at the picture, especially the one below, and notice the film of skin on top.  The milk pudding or milk custard as some call it is really good due to the super smooth and soft texture.  The cold dessert makes for a great treat especially on a hot day!

Crowded even at 3.30pm

Some of Yee Shun Milk Company's specialities include the steamed milk in two films, steamed milk with ginger juice, steamed egg as well as cold milk with papaya juice.
