This is the first time we have received a complimentary cruise from Star Cruises. Upon calling, we found that we could choose from any of the 3D 2N departure which falls on either Wednesday or Friday. Since our schedule for November was already quite packed, we managed to squeeze in the complimentary cruise on Wed, 3rd Nov.
Birthday Cruise on board SuperStar Virgo
Birthday cruises are not the norm and this is a treat that we decided we did not wish to miss out on.
For Wed Malacca/Port Klang departure, SuperStar Virgo departs at 2359 hrs from Singapore HarbourFront Centre. Check in commences at 2000 hrs and boarding is from 2030 – 2230 hrs.

With over 2200 passengers for this holiday cruise since Friday is a Public Holiday – Deepavali, the queue to check in was super long. By the time we boarded the holiday cruise ship, it was already after 2100 hrs.
Holiday Travel Tips:-
To avoid long queues and inconvenience during bill settlement, proceed to the Reception on Deck 7 and complete the Express Checkout form.

Complimentary birthday cruise - window cabin
Late dinner/supper was served at Pavilion Room and Mediterranean Buffet International from 2100 – 2330 hrs and 2100 – 0000 hrs respectively. However when we proceeded to have dinner at the all-inclusive restaurants, there was a long queue.
Since we had the SGD100 dining credits, we decided to cut the queue and instead headed for Samurai Restaurant to enjoy some Japanese food. At 2200 hrs, Samurai Restaurant was totally empty except for the two of us.
The grilled glazed spring chicken with rice in a box and katsudon (pork cutlet) both tasted great, being tasty and fragrant, good choices and value for money. The prices are very reasonable as well considering the standard of the food.

After dinner, we went back to the cabin to rest before watching Magic World by Duo Baccara. It was 45 minutes of magical fun and entertainment. We were delighted that we did not miss this incredible show combining magic, dance, comedy, acrobatic and, of course, grand illusion as we learned that this was their last show her on Super Star Cruises.

At midnight, there was the Tropical Hawaiian Night Sail Away Party by the Parthenon Pool on Deck 12 for those who wished to join in and have some party time.
