Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Weekend Trip 15 - 16 May 2010 Day 2

Being a short weekend Kuala Lumpur holiday, we would be making our leisurely drive to Singapore later today after meeting up with a few more friends and if time permits, enjoy some Malaysia shopping as well. What amazed us was the place where we had brunch, almost like a dim sum city.

We checked out just after 0900 hrs from our Kuala Lumpur accommodation, Quality City Centre Hotel, and made our way to Damansara Jaya SS22/19. Again we had to depend on our most trusted Garmin global positioning system to direct us to Jin Xian Restaurant where we were to meet some of our warrior friends for brunch at 1000 hrs.

Jin Xian Restaurant

Some of the warriors from our Brave Heart tribe who showed up included Stanley, Adrian, Prudence and Shireen. According to them, this restaurant is one of the better restaurants serving dim sum food. With tons of varieties of dim sum, it seemed almost as if this was a dim sum city where waiters came round with trays and trays of dim sum dishes from which you could pick your choice.

Here are some dim sum pictures of the delicious dim sum food that we enjoyed.

A true dim sum city with tons of dim sum food varieties to suit your palette and tempt your tastebud.

We were thoroughly surprised by the variety of dim sum food here. It is no wonder that this place is crowded every weekend and no reservations are allowed especially for the weekend.Imagine the whole area being dead on a Sunday morning except for this dim sum city which was bustling with customers who were willing to sit under the sun just waiting for a seat.

Holiday travel tips:-

If you are keen on trying the dim sum food at Jin Xian Restaurant during the weekend, you can get free parking but be prepared to wait for a table.

We waited almost half an hour for a table. The Malaysian dim sum food was delicious and yummy.

Dessert - herbal jelly and almond paste

As we had not seen some of our warrior friends for some time, we then adjourned next door to a shop specializing in herbal jelly.

Having fun!

Here we managed to share with them the Royal Keys program, an enrichment program for kids as well as The Opening, a self-realization meditation retreat. Once again, the subject turned to kids; education. By the time we bid our farewell, it was 1300 hrs.

With the help of our Garmin global positioning system, we made our way to Great Eastern Mall where we managed to squeeze in some Malaysia shopping before meeting another warrior friend of ours, Peter Davie. Peter, with his friend Ting Ting, met us at 1430 hrs. Whilst we were having a drink at Starbucks, one of the warrior facilitators, Michael Liew joined us as well.

More warrior friends

It was a great time reconnecting with wonderful people and at the same time, we not only took time to catch up but we managed to discuss the Royal Keys program as well as The Opening and discussed how we could all help one another.

Reconnecting

Peter and Ting Ting had to leave after a while and we then adjourned to Syet Lee to have a meal with Michael where we continued our discussion further. Here we tried the nasi lemak (coconut rice), mushroom wanton noodle, rojak (traditional fruit and vegetable salad) as well as roti jala (lacy crepes served with curry). They all tasted quite great as do most Malaysian food.

Together with Michael

After Michael left at 1800 hrs, we continued with more Malaysian shopping for another hour before we started off on our return drive to Singapore at 1900 hrs. Fortunately for us, it was a smooth and pleasant drive along the North-South Highway and we reached Tuas Checkpoint just before midnight.

Shopping in Malaysia Cold Storage

Thus ended our weekend Kuala Lumpur holiday. Not only did we have fun on this travel Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, we also had lots of time reconnecting with friends and sharing heart to heart. Of course the Malaysia shopping and Malaysian food, especially the dim sum city added to our enjoyment of vibrant Malaysia. As usual, we must not forget to give thanks to our Garmin global positioning system for tirelessly directing us to our destinations.
