SuperStar Virgo Travel Cruise 15th – 17th Jan 2010

First travel cruise of 2010, we would be going on board the SuperStar Virgo holiday cruise ship once again bringing Mother on board. With only 1700 passengers on board the Star Cruise line including some Japanese and Indian nationalities, the ship was not full.

Mother has not been feeling too well recently and this would be a good break for her, as she loves this casino ship. On this particular travel cruise, there were a total of 8 family members, most of whom were waiting to try their luck in the casino.

We arrived at the Singapore HarbourFront Cruise Centre at around 1800 hrs and proceeded through the customs and immigration soon after. As has been the case of the past few months, we had one of the crew to assist in pushing Mother in her wheelchair during the check in process.

Checking in

Once on board the SuperStar Virgo, we headed to Noble House, a Chinese a la carte restaurant, for dinner. The food was good and the dishes tasty. As usual, we enjoyed the Chinese food here and do not mind paying for the great food.

After dinner, we went to the Mediterranean Buffet restaurant for coffee/tea, deserts and ice cream. We returned to the cabin soon after and assisted in preparing Mother for bed. The holiday cruise ship only started sailing at approximately 2115 hrs.

The Oasis casino - still closed as we still had not reached international waters.

With Mother settled into bed, we proceeded to The Lido on Deck 7 to watch The Wonders of Charles Bach. This was an incredible 45-minutes show combining magic, dance, comedy and grand illusion. Having performed at Caesars’ Palace in La Vegas and the famous Magic Castle in Hollywood, this is a show not to be missed. It is great entertainment for all ages!

Upon returning to our cabin, some of our group members were getting ready to head for the casino and we followed suit, spending about an hour there. Next was supper at the Mediterranean Buffet Restaurant for something light before retiring for the night.

Although we have been on board the holiday cruise ship SuperStar Virgo a number of times, our family members love to come on board as they love this casino ship and use it to de-stress from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The most important part was that it was very wheelchair accessible, just great for Mother especially in the last few months.
