How fast time flies! Today is the last full day of our Malaysia vacation and we have been enjoying ourselves as the Malaysia tourist and going on a tour of the various Malaysia attractions for the past week, experiencing the sumptuous local food of Malaysia as well as going on a Malaysia shopping spree including Tesco shopping. We not only enjoyed the delicious food at Mum's Place, we also had the opportunity to eat our favourite durian fruit at bargain prices! All thanks to our Garmin global positioning system which we rely on especially while on the road in Malaysia.
We left the hotel at 1130 hrs to meet our friends, Stanley & Elvina at Ikano and followed their car to Mum’s Place at Jalan PJU 8/5A, Bandar
Tucked in one corner is Mum’s Place Restaurant, a Food & Beverage outlet serving tasteful local Malaysian cum Portuguese cuisine. With a cozy homely ambience, the food there was not too bad. If you like to try out some local Malaysian food, then Mum’s Place is a good bet. You can order very spicy food if you care for that. Or you can enjoy non-spicy food. There is a variety of tempting dishes to excite your tastebuds.
Portuguese style Beef Slices
Sweet Potato Leaves
Beancurd (Taufu) with Petola
We tried some of the house specialties such as Cencaru Fish with Chilli Paste and the Sambal Petai Prawns. Ooooh, they were such a delight and especially great for lovers of spicy food.
House specialty Cencaru Fish with Chilli Paste - don't let the colour fool you. This is extremely spicy!
Sambal Petai Prawns - another spicy dish, but this was my favourite dish! From the fresh prawns to the chilli sambal that was done just right!
Cendol with Red Beans
Thai Style Water Chestnut
Sago with Water Chestnut and chendol - a new dessert
Adding to the homely ambience
Doubt you'll need anti-stress therapy here
We had a great time catching up with our warrior friends, Stanley & Elvina as well.

Surprisingly just a few doors away from Mum’s Place Restaurant is a place called Kafe Passion but it was closed.

That is exactly the same name as our friend’s café in Bandar Mahkota Cheras.
After lunch, we went to meet our friends at their café in Bandar Mahkota Cheras as they had helped us buy some salted fish so that we could spend our vacation touring some of the

We left the café at about 1800 hrs and made our way to Tesco Kajang to do some shopping in Tesco. Our main purpose was to buy some kuih bahulu (sponge cake) from one of the stalls there as per our friend’s recommendation.
Stopping by Tesco in Kajang to do some shoppingKuih bahulu is a traditional Malay cake made from a mixture of eggs, sugar and flour. They are baked in special moulds. Although the kuih bahulu is light and fluffy, it tastes slightly dry and is especially popular during Chinese New Year.

We then made our way to Tasty Pot Steamboat buffet but because we missed the turning into the carpark, we had to go a whole big round. Instead of doing that and because it was not in our Garmin global positioning system, we made our way to SS2 durian fruit buffet stall near the police station. Situated just by the corner, we had the kampong (village) durian buffet for RM9 (USD2.65) per person. You could supposedly get better durians for RM15 (USD4.45) per person.
Durians galore
The durians were quite good except some were a little wet. However, there is no cause to complain as we requested for more durians. We had our fill of durian fruits to last us for a month!

Driving around as a Malaysia tourist with our eyes wide open, here are some interesting sights that we came across.
It seemed that today was a day for food. Our local food of
