Holiday Cruise Ship With Stopover Travel In Port Klang 11 Nov – 13 Nov 2009

SuperStar Virgo & Libra in the dock

Today we look forward once more to another short travel cruise on the holiday cruise ship Superstar Virgo cruise. A total of ten family members would be going on this casino cruise accompanying Mother along in her wheelchair. This time, instead of the weekend cruise to nowhere on the Star Cruise line, we were going on a Malaysia cruise with stopover travel in Port Klang in Malaysia for some Malaysia shopping and tasting of the super delicious food of Malaysia.

Upon arrival at Harbourfront Centre, we could see both Star Cruise line ships in port – the SuperStar Virgo as well as the sister ship, SuperStar Libra. We met up at 1900 hrs and had dinner at the Food Court on Level 3. At 2000 hrs, we proceeded to Level 2 and were greeted with a super long queue for checking in. We discovered later that there were altogether 2100 passengers on board this Malaysia holiday cruise.

Boarding only started at 2010 hrs and as everyone was just boarding as well, there was again another long queue. As we had a staff member helping to push Mother in her wheelchair, we were able to get on board pretty fast. However, the other family members had to join the queue and took awhile to board the holiday cruise ship.

See the crowd...

Even at the elevators on board, it was super crowded and we had to wait in line in order to get to Deck 10 where our cabins were situated.

Once we were all on board, our whole group went along to the Mediterranean Buffet Restaurant on Deck 12 which was open for those who wished for more food as in a late dinner or early supper. As we already had our dinner, this was more of an early supper.

The compulsory safety drill was conducted at 2300 hrs and the cruise ship bound for Malaysia moved off at 2340 hrs.

The casino only opened sometime after midnight once the ship reached international waters. Thus, those who wanted to try their hands in the casino could do so till the wee hours of the morning.

We were all looking forward to Day 2 on our travel cruise on board the holiday cruise ship SuperStar Virgo cruise as we are all shopaholics and there would be two stopovers tomorrow – Malacca and Port Klang. Malacca is more of an embarkation and disembarkation stop but the ship would be stopping over in Port Klang for almost 8 hours, enough for us to do some Malaysia shopping and try the delicious food of Malaysia.
