Titisee - Drubba Restaurant Zur Muhle

Whilst on our Europe vacation package, we visited Titisee, one of six communities in Baden-Wurttemberg in southern Germany.

Close by is the Titisee Black Forest area, a wooded mountain range which inherited its name due to the dense growth of conifers in the forest which blocked out most of the light inside the forest.  This is where the famous Black Forest cake first came into existence.

Drubba Family Restaurant

We had lunch in Restaurant Zur Muhle owned by the Drubba family who has a range of businesses including the production of the well known Drubba cuckoo clocks.

Somehow we still prefer our local version of the Black Forest cake back home in Singapore...  : P

The Family Special:-   a tray with enough for the whole family - pork knuckle, sausages, schnitzels, rice and fries

Check out How To Debone Pork Knuckle Roast for a short demonstration by our tour manager on deboning those huge pork knuckles.

After lunch, we visited the Titisee Drubba Black Forest Cuckoo Clock Centre where we had a narration of how the Drubba cuckoo clocks are made.
