Berjaya Hills - Resort Highlands Activities

During a holiday in Berjaya Hills recently, we stayed in Colmar Tropicale Resort Highlands, now under the Berjaya Hotels Group. at 2700 feet above sea level, the weather was just a wee bit cooler especially in the evenings but just as hot under the direct sun.

A good place to take a break and enjoy nature.

Here are some activities that you can do whilst in Berjaya Hills.

Visit the Botanical Gardens and Japanese Village at 3500 feet above sea level. You need an entrance ticket which is inclusive of the hotel rate at Colmar Tropicale Resort. Either take a 10 minute drive there or hop on the shuttle provided by the resort.

Bukit Tinggi Botanical Gardens

Many species of trees and flowers there. Plus you can also learn the names and the uses of some of the plants. Behold the lovely collection of colorful highlands flowers as well as exotic tropical plants here. Being nature lovers, we enjoyed the wonderful highlands flowers that we saw here.

Dine at the Japanese restaurant (the Ryo Zan Tei) which connects the Botanical Gardens with the Japanese gardens.

If you like, you can immerse yourself in some Japanese culture. Pay RM28 (USD8.20) and participate in the Japanese tea ceremony at the authentic Japanese tea house. This floor is covered with Japanese tatami mat just like in Japan.

For a more memorable experience, rent the Japanese kimono costumes and have a photograph taken.

In the Japanese gardens, you will find a koi pond, waterfalls, bonsai trees and Japanese designs and decoration. These give you the feeling of being in a typical Japanese village.

If you like to be pampered and have a relaxing time, go ahead and rejuvenate at the Tatami Spa in the Japanese Village.

Alternatively, you can visit the organic farm here on Bukit Tinggi. Again, there is a shuttle from Colmar Tropicale Resort Highlands to the organic farm.

The visit to the organic farm was interesting with us being given samples of vegetable plucked directly from the farm for sampling.

For the more adventurous, you may fit in some jungle trekking, orienteering and waterfall trekking.

Or go horse riding...

Or visit the rabbit park where the kids will enjoy playing with the adorable and friendly rabbits hopping freely in the park. There is also a deer sanctuary there and the kids can go on donkey rides.

For a round of golf, head on down to Bukit Tinggi Golf and Country Club which boasts and 18-hole international golf course on this resort in the highlands.
