Stroopwafels Amsterdam

Stroopwafel

After our visit to Gassan Diamonds Amsterdam, we stopped at the next building for a drink and bought some stroopwafels to try.

A stroopwafel is a syrup waffle or treacle waffle and is made from two thin layer of baked batter with a caramel-like syrup filling in the middle.  You can find large versions in the streets sold as snacks.

Crispy though a little too sweet for my liking, the strooopwafel was a hit with the kids.
